Red River AI Water Management

This project applies Artificial Intelligence techniques to optimize water and reservoir management in Vietnam’s Red River Delta, addressing competing objectives such as hydropower generation, agricultural water supply, and flood regulation. The study focuses on the Hoa Binh reservoir, with the aim of improving water availability and mitigating seawater intrusion under current and projected climate conditions.

THETIS – EarTH Observation for the Early forecasT of Irrigation needS

THETIS (EarTH Observation for the Early forecasT of Irrigation needS) aims to improve irrigation planning and water use efficiency in agriculture through an innovative Spatial Decision Support System. The system integrates Earth Observation data (SAR and optical imagery), crop and hydrological models, and AI-based weather spatialization to provide early and accurate forecasts of irrigation requirements. Tested in the Apulian Tavoliere with a focus on tomato crops, THETIS delivers forecasts before seeding, at the start, and during crop growth. By combining advanced EO products with modeling and WebGIS tools, it supports sustainable water management in climate-vulnerable regions.
